Details of Scott's Arrest
Scott was arrested on the 19th March 2005 at 4.20pm at the Aranyaprathet check point on the Thai/Cambodian boarder. He was arrested carrying 250 pills with a street value of £130.00.
He was held for 14 days in the police station at Aranyaprathet before being transferred to Sa Kaeo Provincial Prison.
Sa Kaeo is an eastern Province of Thailand which boarders Cambodia. It is located 245 km east of Bangkok.
The judgement from Scott's trial reads as follows:
The court found Scott guilty of importing narcotics in Category 1 (methamphetamine) into the Kingdom for distribution. Where as the narcotics in question is one and of the same quantity and constitutes one count of offence, therefore the court sentenced him for the charge of importing narcotics in Category 1 (methamphetmine) into the Kingdom for distribution. This carries the more severe punishment, thereby sentences him to death. However since Scott pleaded guilty to the charges, which is beneficial to the court proceedings, and considered to be a mitigating factor, the court reduced the sentence by one half, leaving an imprisonment sentence of 30 years.
Scott is due to be released from prison in 2035.
